What you will record
An application record should answer: where the work happened, what was applied, which equipment was used and which results were reported. In Farms, this data stays in the operation alongside the photos, observations and GO records you link.
This guide covers recording completed work. To organize future work, bring participants together and follow execution on the map, explore Real-time operations.
Find the season and operation
In Operations, check the season and look for the job before creating another record. If it was already scheduled, open that operation to update execution and record its results.
To add completed work that is not yet in history, open New operation and choose Record operation. Select Spraying to follow this guide's example. Farms also organizes fertilizing, seeding, soil preparation and harvesting, with the data appropriate to each job.
Schedule operation is the path for future work. This choice separates planned information from the results you confirm after execution.
Review location, area and units
Select one or more areas involved in the operation and check each one's crop. This lets you group several fields in the same job while keeping applications associated with the correct location.
If boundaries still need preparation, see How to measure and organize an area in Farms. The polygon measurement identifies the geographic area; execution results should represent the work performed.
| Data | What to check |
|---|---|
| Season | Is the record in the correct working period? |
| Areas and crops | Are all serviced fields included, with their crops? |
| Date | Is this the execution date, rather than just the entry date? |
| Worked area | Does the value match the surface serviced in the operation? |
| Units | Do area, volume, rates and duration use the indicated units? |
Identify the team and equipment
At the team step, you can invite people from your Connections. Define each participant's permission: an Editor can edit details and participate in execution; an Operator contributes GO recordings, photos and comments. Invitations are sent after the save is synchronized, and each person must accept to access the operation.
Select the equipment used and enter the job date. When equipment readings are available, check the starting and ending counters and their unit. This helps readers identify the machine and the values reported for that execution.
Enter execution results
Record known results, including job duration. For applied area, choose the mode matching available data: enter the area directly or calculate it from applied volume and the rate in liters per hectare, when that mode is available.
Geographic area, recorded duration, machine counters and GO data represent different information. Linking a route does not automatically fill in operation results. Check each value before confirming execution.
The service price can also be entered in the record when needed. It helps when reviewing the job; entering it does not generate a charge.
Record applications for each area
In Applications, use Add application and choose the corresponding area. Select a product or mixture and review the displayed data, including rates, units and spray volume rate where applicable.
The same area may receive separate applications. Record each in the correct field instead of combining products from different locations in one unreferenced list. For mixtures, check the components and rates in the composition used for the job.
Use execution information and guidance from the responsible technical professional. Rates shown in website demos are illustrative, not recommendations for your work. If information was not recorded, keep that absence clear instead of estimating a value just to fill the field.
Add useful observations
Select FotoTrack photos to accompany the operation and describe area changes, interruptions or other events that help explain the job. Associating photos keeps those references with the work, available according to participants' access.
After saving the operation, also link GO records related to execution. They let you view routes and their own information alongside the job. Photos and GOs are associated explicitly; proximity to a field does not automatically create the link.
If recording weather conditions, indicate whether they came from a forecast or a field observation. Read How to choose an operation's working window in Farms to understand how to compare them.
Enlarge imageSave and check the result
During review, check areas and crops, team, equipment, date, results, applications, photos and observations. Pay particular attention to the area associated with each application and the units of its values.
In the recording workflow, confirm Save operation: it will be saved as Completed. Open the detail and check the displayed data, invitations and linked records. Check the save confirmation and any pending synchronization indication before considering the information available to others.
Review history and prepare the report
Find the operation by season and review its details to answer the customer, check a previous application or prepare the next job. Linked photos, observations and GOs help recover execution context.
Open the operation's PDF export, check the data and choose the offered report options. Depending on context, you can include photos, reported conditions, a logo, sketch map and signature fields. Review the generated document before sharing it with the customer or team.
